I met Frank this morning in downtown San Jose, CA. He was sweeping away the leaves in front of his barbershop, The Spartan. Frank has been cutting hair at this location since 1957.
Frank is originally from Louisiana and moved to San Jose in 1941.
I told him he had not lost his southern charm, and he replied, "Everyone is nice where I come from."
His father worked at the Del Monte Plant#3 on Auzerais.
I plan on returning for a trim and continuing our conversation.
