Far From Home: San Jose Steel Company
While traveling through Chitina, Alaska on our way to Wrangell St Elias National Park, I stopped to take a photograph of a truck bearing the San Jose Steel CO. logo. The owner of the property told us that the truck had made the long journey from San Jose to Alaska (2,985 miles), although the exact date wasn't provided.
"Blimp over the San Jose Steel Company. On reverse, "New highway(U.S.101) going thru near Mother's house San Jose 1946. Mother's house on this corner."
The company was located at 195 N 30th St. San Jose, CA
Th building is now occupied by Monarch Truck Center
