San Francisco · An ongoing documentary project
Yerba Buena Island
& Treasure Island
I’ve been photographing Treasure Island for nearly twenty years, returning to its buildings, streets, infrastructure, and open spaces as the landscape changes. Some of the buildings I photographed are now gone; those earlier images have become part of the record.
On Yerba Buena Island, I follow the shoreline, historic buildings, and newly accessible public spaces. Its overlooks give me a bird’s-eye view of Treasure Island and the Bay—a perspective I photograph from the ground, without a drone.
These projects bring those visits together, from earlier island landscapes to the parks and waterfront taking shape today.

Cityside Park
After years of photographing Treasure Island’s changing landscape, the opening of public green space along the Bay marks another chapter. This collection follows Cityside Park, its waterfront, and the views back toward San Francisco.
